Wash any new Tervis product before using it for the first time.
Tervis Classic Insulated drinkware was designed to survive normal use in the dishwasher. We suggest you use your dishwasher’s manufacturer’s settings and, when possible, use the top rack of the dishwasher. If our taller drinkware products do not fit on the top rack, try to place them away from the heating element on the bottom of the dishwasher.
Coffee, tomato and citrus products may cause slight discoloration so you should always wash and rinse the product thoroughly after each use.
Some sunscreens have been found to fade or discolor our drinkware – as well as many other everyday plastic products. Aerosol sunscreens may do more damage to our products than creams or non-aerosol pump sprays. This does not affect the integrity of Tervis products or your ability to use them. Should contact occur, wash drinkware thoroughly using soap, cool water and wipe dry with a soft cloth immediately. Sunscreens containing TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) and ZnO (Zinc Oxide) as the only active ingredients do not affect our drinkware.
If at any time you run your drinkware through the dishwasher and there is a residue or haze, we recommend hand washing with a mild detergent. If the haziness does not go away, try using a very small amount of baking soda and a soft, wet cloth.
Check for Microwave Safety on bottom of tumbler.
If there is no Microwave warning on the bottom, Tumblers and mugs (without lids) are microwave safe for up to 30 seconds at a time.
This warning means the Tumblers or decorations are made with materials that can be microwaved as long as they are full of liquid up to 1 inch from the top of the cup.
This warning means the Tumblers or decorations have metallic elements in them and are not microwave-safe.
Tervis drinkware reduces sweat or condensation; it does not eliminate it. Sweating on the outside of the drinkware is affected by the temperature and humidity of the environment in which it is used.
Condensation should not regularly appear between the two walls. However, it can occasionally occur after the drinkware is washed in the dishwasher. Air sealed between the two layers of the cup provides the insulating barrier that keeps “hot things hot and cold things cold.” That air contains a trace of moisture, which sometimes condenses between the layers after washing. It will usually go away within 24 hours or, typically, less. If there is a significant amount of moisture pooling between the walls, there may be a faulty seal where the two pieces of drinkware come together, which is covered under our lifetime guarantee.
We do not recommend stacking our tumblers. Stacked tumblers can get stuck together just like glassware. If they do become stuck together, some customers have told us they put theirs in the freezer overnight, which allowed them to more easily pull them apart.
